Fall Road Trip Destinations in Ohio

Jack Pearce/Flickr Creative Commons

Taking a road trip - even a short one - requires that your vehicle is properly maintained so that you can get to your destination and back without worrying about breaking down. If you know you just had your belts and hoses checked, they probably won't break, however, if you haven't had them - or anything else that could break - checked recently, you will be wondering the entire time if, just maybe, you should have had your vehicle serviced at Superior Hyundai North.

You can take plenty of road trips and, you can make a weekend out of many or just drive out for the day. If you make a weekend of road trips, you can pick a couple places to visit that are near each other.

Drive to Kent, Ohio to visit the site of the Kent State Massacre to try to make sense of why bullets were fired at the students in the first place, and why four of them had to die.

Head over to Warren, Ohio to visit David Grohl Alley to see the world's largest drumsticks. This is a tribute to the former drummer of Nirvana and founder of the Foo Fighters who was born in Warren.

Visit Wapakoneta, Ohio and stop by The Temple of Tolerance. It's set at a regular house on a regular street - but the owner transformed his extensive yards into The Temple of Tolerance. Also in Wapakoneta, visit the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, a museum dedicated to NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong and his role in sending man into space.

If you visit Ragersville, Ohio, you just might get to see a ghost. Visit the Skeleton of Jeff Davis in Hangtown. Davis was hung in an 1873 vigilante hanging - and he haunts the area. Ghost hunters will enjoy this. Non-believers just might become believers.

Murderabilia fans should visit Bowling Green, Ohio to see the Human Fingers in a Jar and other murderabilia at the Wood County Historical Museum.

Last but not least, if you're a Lego fan, stop in Bellaire, Ohio to visit the Toy and Plastic Brick Museum, an old school filled with Dan Brown's Lego collection.

Make plans to visit at least one of these unusual places - or several of them on the same weekend. Before you head out, be sure to have your vehicle serviced at Superior Hyundai North or, if you're planning on buying or leasing a new vehicle, pick it up before you head out.

5 Things to Check Before Buying a Used Car

Superior Hyundai North doesn't just sell new cars - we sell used cars, too. You can pick up a used Hyundai higher in the lineup for a lot less than you would be able to get it new. This means that you can get a lot of the additional options that might not be so affordable on a new car, including a backup camera, blind spot assist and adaptive cruise control.

Even though we thoroughly check every used car on the lot, it is a good idea for you to check certain things. A car can tell you a lot about its history if you know what to look for.

Check the mileage. If a used car is advertised with low mileage, you can tell if the seller is pulling your leg. If the seller is a dealer like Superior Hyundai, then you won't have to worry about this, however, private parties sometimes change the odometer. If the vehicle has low mileage, the brake, gas and clutch pedals won't be worn. Also check the wear and tear on the seats. Someone has to sit in that seat for all those miles, and it will show.

Check the fluids, especially the oil. Look for signs of possible fluid leaks. These signs might include grease on the engine, brake fluid stains on the tires if a vehicle has wheel cylinders instead of four-wheel disc brakes and low fluid levels. The oil will sometimes reveal a head gasket problem. If it is milky white, then the vehicle probably has a broken head gasket.

Check the tires. If the used vehicle is on the high side of the price spectrum the tires should not be worn to the bone. If the seller is selling the vehicle at a price that is at the lower end of the suggested price for that year, make and model, then you could overlook seriously worn tires. Just get them replaced as soon as possible.

Check CarFax to see if the vehicle was in any accidents, and if so, how bad the accident. A hard enough hit in the right place could bend the frame and cause the vehicle to dog track.

Check the accessories. Be sure the heating and air conditioning work. Make sure the windows, wipers and door lock work.

When you buy a used vehicle at Superior Hyundai North, it is not necessary to check everything, but it is a good idea to check, especially if the vehicle comes with a warranty.

2015 Hyundai Equus Sedan

https://www.hyundaiusa.com/images/home/breakthrough/general/2015/equus/pages/safety/equus_hyundai_2015_safety_10.jpg

If you are in the market for a new Hyundai, but are waiting for the 2015 Equus sedan, your wait is almost over. Soon, the 2015 model year will be available at Superior Hyundai North. The 2015 Equus rear-wheel drive sedan features a 5.0-liter engine with variable valve timing and a double overhead cam backed by an eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission.

The Equus runs on premium fuel and gets 15 mpg* in the city and 23 mpg* on the highway. It makes 429 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 376 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm.

Convenience features include multi-level heated driver's and front passenger's seats, hands-free calling, roadside assistance, destination guidance, navigation with voice activation and Bluetooth.

Safety features include emergency service, airbag deployment notification, stolen vehicle assistance and vehicle alarm notification. Airbags include two advanced dual front airbags, two front and rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags, a driver's knee airbag, and two roof-mounted side-curtain airbags for the front and rear seats.

Vehicle stability management, another safety feature, includes electronic stability control, a traction control system, ABS brakes, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. It also features a lane departure warning system.

The land departure warning system gives an audible signal if the vehicle starts to veer out of its lane. If the driver does not correct, it will give visual and haptic warnings. Electronic stability control helps lower single-vehicle crashes as the sensors applies brake-force to individual wheels. Traction control reduces wheel spin when you accelerate.

One of the best features on the Equus is the blind spot detection system. It alerts you when you try to change lanes and there is another vehicle in the way. The blind spot detection system uses audible and visual warnings.

Smart cruise control is more of a comfort rather than a safety feature, but it can also be a safety feature. The system detects the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and keeps a consistent distance between the two vehicles. It will accelerate or brake depending on the speed of the vehicle in front of you. If the vehicle in front of you comes to a complete stop, the cruise control system will stop the Equus.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North to learn more about the 2015 Hyundai Equus and to learn when it will be available.

2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco

A new Sonata is getting ready to hit dealerships such as Superior Hyundai North - the 2015 Sonata Eco goes into production at the auto manufacturer's Alabama plant during the summer of 2014, according to Edmunds.com. The new Sonata is just a couple thousand more than the base model Sonata.

The Sonata Eco features a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine backed by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This combination makes 177 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It is also the first vehicle made by Hyundai that gets the manufacturer's new seven-speed transmission.

It is expected that the Eco will get 28 mpg* in the city and 38 mpg* on the highway. The 2015 base model features a 2.4-liter engine and it gets 25 mpg* in the city and 37 mpg* on the highway. The 32-mpg combined rating of the Eco gives it a 10+ percent improvement in fuel economy over the base model. However, the numbers for the base model are from the EPA. The Eco's fuel economy had not been tested by early summer 2014.

The Hyundai Sonata Eco will have one option: the Technology Package. This package includes a blind spot detection system, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and chrome door handles.

Hyundai is building the Sonata Eco to appeal to those who consider fuel efficiency a major factor in buying a new vehicle.

The Sonata SE features a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with mounted audio controls, illuminated entry, remote keyless entry, an overhead console, Bluetooth, heated power door mirrors, traction control, electronic stability control, brake assist, ABS brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, anti-whiplash front head restraints, front fog lights, a rear window defroster, variably intermittent wipers, speed sensitive wipers and a low tire pressure warning system.

If you are interested in learning more about the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco, keep your eye on this space or stop by Superior Hyundai North for more information.

Redesigned 2016 Hyundai Tucson & Elantra

When you visit Superior Hyundai North later in 2015, you'll see that the Hyundai Tucson and Elantra models will be redesigned for the 2016 model year. The 2016 Elantra is expected to be available in the second half of 2015and the Tucson sometime next year. Furthermore, Hyundai expects to have a new subcompact crossover at dealerships in 2017. The new vehicle is smaller than the Tucson.

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson

According to Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski, the 2016 Tucson will have more styling and will move up "a few steps in terms of refinement." The new athletic look and aggressive styling will make the Tucson look bigger, but it will be the same size as the current model years.

Additionally, the Tucson will have better steering and handling and more technology and safety features - such as those usually found in more expensive vehicles. Hyundai Motor America expects to double the sales of the Tucson with the 2016 model year.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra

The 2016 Elantra will feature Audi-like styling. The 2016 model year will also include a hatchback and a coupe. The styling makes it look like something other than a lower-priced compact car - more like "a richer segment car," according to Zuchowski. It has a more elegant look than the current Elantra.

The 2015 Elantra Limited, which is available at our Cincinnati dealership, features technology such as an emergency communication system, turn-by-turn navigation system, SiriusXM radio, heated front and rear seats, heated power door mirrors and a security system.

Thus far, other details about the 2016 Hyundai Elantra and Tucson are not available, but if you keep your eye on this space, well print updates as we receive them. For now, you can test drive the current year models of the Elantra and Tucson at Superior Hyundai North. When you come it, be sure to ask your salesperson about standard features and additional options for both vehicles.

New Hyundai Genesis Can Outsmart Speed Cameras

The new Hyundai Genesis has something that Americans would love, but it is not being released in North America - at least not this year. Hyundai engineers have come up with a system that saves speeders from that huge speeding ticket. The system alerts drivers to hidden speed cameras and will slow the vehicle down to avoid a ticket. The new Genesis - without this nifty gadget - is now available at Superior Hyundai North - but maybe Hyundai will consider using it in vehicles distributed in North America.

How it Works

The onboard navigation system features a database that shows the location of the speed cameras in South Korea. The information is linked to the Genesis model's automatic braking system. About a half mile before the speed camera, the system alerts the driver that he or she is approaching a speed camera. If the driver doesn't slow to the posted speed limit, the automatic braking system on the Genesis gradually slows the vehicle.

Legalities

For now, the system is only available in South Korea, however, if it is released in North America, there are questions about the legality of this type of technology. Some states and Canada ban radar detectors. However, since the system only works on known camera/detector locations, it would never alert to a police-held radar scanner.

Also, drivers can download apps like CamSam or use a Garmin to "find" speed traps. However, these are based on a database of known traps. Also, these are only available in states where using a radar detector is legal.

Hyundai is the first automaker to offer a speed camera detection system; and it is part Hyundai's suite of electronic convenience, comfort and safety features on the Genesis. Tech features that are currently available on the Genesis include a Smart Trunk, carbon dioxide sensor for the cabin, tire pressure monitoring system with individual tire indicator, HD screen with premium navigation, intelligent assistant app, BlueLink, and rain-sensing wipers with an automatic defogging system.

Safety features include an automatic emergency braking system, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, smart cruise control, head-up display, HID headlights with high beam assist and nine airbags.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North today to test drive the 2015 Genesis and to learn more about its convenience, entertainment, security and safety features.

Keeping Up With Your Hyundai

During the summer months, you'll need to do some extra maintenance to keep your Hyundai in good working condition. If you haven't had a service appointment in some time, stop by Superior Hyundai North for a checkup.

In addition to the normal things like checking fluids every month, you should have your air conditioning system checked in the Spring or at least once during the Summer. Since you'll be using it more, you definitely don't want it to go out on you, especially if you are taking a road trip or during a hot commute to work.

Many people take vacations during the summer because the kids are out of school. Since it's nice outside, you'll probably take more weekend trips, too. This means that you put more wear and tear on the brakes, steering, suspension and other wear-and-tear parts.

The brake system should be checked at the beginning of the summer and at the end of the summer - so if you haven't done it yet, you should do it before your next trip. If you notice that the brake fluid is low, bring your vehicle in to our service department right away, as that could mean a leak in the system or low brakes.

The suspension also takes a bigger hit when you drive more. Shocks, struts, bushings and other suspension parts wear out with mileage. They also wear out faster if you drive over gravel roads or bumpy roads. It's the same with steering components - be sure to have your steering checked for leaks, bad bushings or a worn rack.

If you haven't had your radiator flushed in three or more years, now is the time to do it unless your vehicle uses extended life antifreeze. In that case, you should have the radiator flushed every five years. Once the tech flushes the radiator, he or she will fill it with new antifreeze.

Make a service appointment at Superior Hyundai North today to ensure your vehicle is in good working condition for any upcoming trips you might take - or even for peace of mind during your commute.

Hyundai Face Off!

http://pictures.dealer.com/s/superiorhyundainorth/0375/2542a7cc4067d9a1eed13bb1c9ad31ffx.jpg

You know you want a Hyundai, but you don't know which one to choose. Assuming your financial picture lets you choose any Hyundai model out there, thus taking the price out of the picture, you should visit Superior Hyundai North to test drive the Elantra, Sonata and the Genesis.

Powertrain

The Elantra features a 1.8-liter engine that makes 145 horsepower and gets 38 mpg* on the highway. The Sonata features a 2.4-liter engine that makes 190 horsepower and gets 35 mpg* on the highway. The Genesis has a 3.8-liter engine that makes 333 horsepower and gets 27 mpg* on the highway. As you can see, there isn't much difference between the Elantra and Sonata for fuel economy, but the Genesis gets 11 mpg* less than the Sonata and 8 mpg* less than the Elantra.

However, if you want the horses under the hood, you're going to have to sacrifice fuel economy. No matter which brand of vehicle you look at, you're going to find this. If you are concerned about fuel economy, you might want to choose the Elantra. If you are more concerned about luxury and speed, go with the Genesis.

Safety and Security

All three models have many safety features including traction control, electronic stability control, brake assist, ABS brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, a panic alarm, security system and perimeter/approach lights.

All three models also have dual front side impact airbags, an overhead airbag, an occupant sensing airbag and dual front impact airbags. However, the Sonata and Genesis also feature dual front impact airbags, ignition disable and anti-whiplash front head restraints.

If safety is your main concern, you might want to go with the Genesis, as that model also has adjustable head restraints with tilt for the driver and passenger and a rear side impact airbag.

All three models also have fully automatic headlights, front fog lights, delay off headlights, a rear window defroster, low tire pressure monitoring system and variably intermittent wipers. The Sonata also has a blind spot sensor and speed sensitive wipers. If safety is your concern, you might want to go with the Sonata or the Genesis. Of course, you can always add additional options to the Elantra or the Sonata if you prefer those models.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North today to test drive one or all of these models to see which one fits your family the best.

Hyundai Announces New Sonata Eco

If you are in the market for a new vehicle but don't plan on buying until the Fall, stop by Superior Hyundai North - in the Fall - to test drive the new Sonata Eco. The auto manufacturer announced in early July 2014 that it would be adding the Eco model to the redesigned 2015 Sonata lineup.

The 2015 Sonata Eco closes the price and efficiency gap between the base model that is currently available at dealerships and the hybrid version that is coming out next year. The combined fuel economy for the 2015 Sonata Eco is 10 percent better than the fuel economy of the base model Sonata. The Sonata Eco gets 28 mpg* in the city and 38 mpg* on the highway. The combined fuel economy is 32 mpg*. The base model gets 29 mpg* combined.

The Sonata Eco is efficient thanks to a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine - the same one Hyundai uses in the Veloster Turbo. It will be backed by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This combination will make 177 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

This efficient powertrain does not sacrifice the driving experience even though it improves fuel economy, according to Hyundai's manager of product planning, John Shon. The starting price for the Eco is under $24,000 - and only a couple thousand more than the base Sonata - pretty good for a "green" car that you would normally expect to pay much more for.

If you want upgrades, you can have them. Upgrades include items such as a 10-way power driver's seat, a 5-inch color touchscreen audio system, a backup camera and extra chrome on the exterior.

For more information on the 2015 Sonata Eco, keep your eye on this space or contact us at Superior Hyundai North. Ask us to give you a call when the new Eco becomes available at our dealership.

Reasons to Buy a Hyundai

http://pictures.dealer.com/ddc/resize/x514/quality/72/sharpen/1/ddc/s/superiorhyundainorth/0371/cd61cdd5a8834826561d9a9b4ecffc3ax.jpg

When you decide to buy a vehicle, one of the first things you have to decide is which make you want, then you have to decide whether purchasing or leasing is better for you. You can make this decision easier by doing some research on each make that interests you. Then, look at your financial picture and your preferences to determine whether you want to lease or purchase from Superior Hyundai North. Some people prefer to get a new vehicle every few years, so a lease is more beneficial to them. Some want a more expensive vehicle but can only afford the payments if the vehicle is leased.

Why You Should Choose a Hyundai

Hyundai has come a long way since the auto manufacturer started selling cars in the United States. The models are all made from quality materials, and you even get to choose a luxury vehicle for much less than other luxury vehicles.

Furthermore, Hyundai's luxury vehicles have more goodies than others, mainly "first class" rear seating, which is perfect for conducting meetings in the vehicle.

Tech Gadgets

Hyundai has more tech gadgets on its lower trim models than any other manufacturer, many of the entry level vehicles come with a rear view camera. You can also add optional equipment to any trim level if you want a specific gadget. For example, if a second level comes with blind spot detection, a rear view camera and leather seats and you don't want the leather seats, you can buy the lower trim level and add the options you want. This way, you are not paying for something you'll never use or don't care for.

Specials

Once you determine you want to lease or purchase a Hyundai, check the specials page at Superior Hyundai North, you'll find many deals on purchases and leases, and even service specials. All that leaves in the decision-making process is to test drive the models you select, discuss pricing with your salesperson and signing the paperwork.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North today to test drive several models, thus making your decision easier. Be sure to check out our web page to see which models have specials running. Be ready to trade in your old car, or have someone with you if you don't want to trade it in, since you can't drive two cars at the same time!

2015 Hyundai Sonata SE

https://www.hyundaiusa.com/images/home/breakthrough/general/2015/sonata/why_page/2015_sonata_vlp_hdri.jpg

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is now available at Superior Hyundai North. Hyundai redesigned the Sonata for the 2015 model year and gave it a bigger cabin and a more refined look. Part of that refined look is aerodynamic curves and new surface creases, and it raised the design bar for other midsize sedans.

The more conservative lines are more akin to the same lines of the Equus and Genesis sedans, including the roof line carry over. The cabin has an additional 2 cubic feet, making it more comfortable for passengers. In addition to the new design, the Sonata has a new chassis that makes the vehicle handle better. In addition to the SE trim level, you can choose from the Sport, Limited or Sport 2.0T trim levels.

The SE features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 185 horsepower. If you want more horsepower, you'll have to spring for the Sport 2.0T with the 2.0-liter, 254-horse engine. The SE features a six-speed automatic transmission.

New features for the SE include a hands-free trunk opening, advanced cruise control that brings the Sonata to a stop in heavy traffic, automatic high beams, blind spot detection (optional on the SE, but standard on the Limited and Sport 2.0T models), forward collision alert, rear cross traffic alert and lane departure warning.

Standard features also include Hyundai Blue Link, Bluetooth, music player and smartphone integration and Apple CarPlay. Navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen are optional.

Additional standard features include one-touch up and down windows, vanity mirrors, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, beverage holders and door bins, an overhead console, speed control, illuminated entry, an emergency communication system, remote keyless entry, traction control, electronic stability control, ABS brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, brake assist, a security system and panic alarm, and plenty of airbags.

For more information about the 2015 Sonata SE, stop by Superior Hyundai North for a test drive. Your salesperson will be able to give you a complete list of convenience, entertainment, security and safety features on the newly redesigned Sonata.

Top Road Trip Destinations

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8022/7550195386_2317c25196_b.jpg

One of the top road trip destinations could take weeks to travel if you really take your time going over the route. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs from Virginia to North Carolina and is 469 miles long. Along the way, you'll find plenty of lodging, so you can drive that new vehicle you just bought at Superior Hyundai North.

If you want to see some really stunning views and drive some harrowing roads, this is the trip to take. The Blue Ridge Parkway connects the Old Dominion's Shenandoah National Park and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is known as America's favorite drive.

Since there is plenty of lodging at cities along the parkway, usually just off of it, you can stop when you want. Choose from Bed & Breakfast inns, modern hotels, cottage rentals or you can even pack a tent and stop at any of the campgrounds along the way.

Some of things to watch out for other than the beautiful views include waterfalls, tunnels, vistas, the Hickory Ridge Homestead Museum, vineyards, Little Switzerland and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. The railroad takes you through river gorges and valleys in western North Carolina. You'll leave Bryson City, North Carolina in a vintage 1940s railroad car.

When you get tired of driving and hiking, stop at one of the many vineyards and orchards, including:

  • Gross' Orchard and Apple Valley Homeplace at mile marker 86
  • Peaks of Otter Winery and Orchards, also at mile marker 86
  • Chateau Morrisette Winery at mile marker 165.2
  • Round Peak Vineyards at mile marker 199.5
  • Shelton Vineyards and Harvest Grill, also at mile marker 199.5
  • Thistle Meadow Winery at mile marker 248.1
  • Waldensian Heritage Winery at mile marker 291.9

Always be on the lookout for animals including reptiles, birds and amphibians, but you should be especially careful of watching for deer, they can run in front of the vehicle in nothing flat and if both the deer and the car don't lose that fight, it's usually the car.

Be sure to stop by Superior Hyundai North before you leave to have your vehicle serviced. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, now would be the time to stop by our dealership to test drive one or five so you can travel in a brand new Hyundai.

Hyundai's Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Car

http://images.dealer.com/evox/color_0640_001/9257/9257_cc0640_001_RR7.jpg

Though not on the market yet, the first hydrogen-fueled Hyundai Tucson was sold in California in early June 2014. Hyundai touts this as the beginning of mass-produced hydrogen-fueled vehicles in the United States. However, these vehicles will not be available to all dealerships, including Superior Hyundai North.

One of the qualifications of leasing a hydrogen-fueled Tucson is that the owner must live within range of the nine refueling stations in Southern California. Most of the refueling stations are near the Interstate 405 corridor in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Refueling takes about 10 minutes, and the hydrogen-fueled Tucson has a range of about 256 miles. The first customer scored a lease where he pays $499 per month and had to put $2,999 down. Additionally, he gets unlimited free hydrogen fuel and free maintenance at three of the participating dealerships in Southern California. The incentives last for the term of the three-year lease.

Though a ceremony was held for the first sale, officials stated that the hydrogen-fueled Tucson is not available for sale as of yet. Other automakers have also put hydrogen-fueled vehicles on the road, however, there are a limited number of refueling stations, and most of them are in Southern California. These other vehicles also have limited availability.

The hydrogen-fueled Tucson is only available in white, though the rest of the vehicle is close enough to be called identical to the gas-powered version. It has four doors, a rear hatch and is manufactured on the same assembly line that the gas-powered version is in Ulsan, South Korea.

The fuel cell creates its power by sending the hydrogen through an electrochemical process. The process does not have moving parts nor does it require combustion. The only emissions you'll see coming out of the tailpipe is water vapor.

As of this writing, Hyundai has not released information about how many hydrogen-fueled vehicles will be made this year, nor has the automaker proffered the number of hydrogen Tucson vehicles that have been ordered.

For more information about the hydrogen-fueled Tucson, stop by Superior Hyundai North or keep your eye on this space. As soon as hydrogen stations become more plentiful throughout other areas of the United States, you can expect to see the Tucson and other hydrogen-fueled vehicles at dealerships like ours.

Look for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe to Rev Up Next Round

http://pictures.dealer.com/s/superiorhyundainorth/1405/a92e96272d7f54027e5846a715bfcbb0x.jpg

Hyundai is making some changes to its engine lineup for the next round of new vehicles. If you are going to be looking at a Genesis coupe and you want the 2.0-liter turbo engine, you'll need to hustle over to Superior Hyundai North and grab one of the 2014 models.

For the 2015 model year, the 274-horse 2.0T trim level is being deleted. The 2015 Genesis will feature the 348-horse 3.8-liter V-6 engine. Additional changes include discontinuing the 3.8 Grand Touring trim level, giving consumers a choice of transmissions by adding a new eight-speed automatic transmission as an option, adding a the 3.8-liter engine to the base trim level, adding LED daytime running lights to the R-Spec trim level, and adding a new interior for the 3.8 Ultimate trim level.

The Genesis R-Spec sedan will still feature the 5.0-liter V-8 engine, and it remains to be seen if that engine will make its way into the coupe.

As of now, the only 2015 Genesis model available is the sedan. The 3.8-liter engine in the sedan makes 311 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 293 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine features a variable intake manifold and runs on regular unleaded fuel. It gets 18 mpg* in the city and 29 mpg* on the highway.

Safety and security features include electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, ABS brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, several airbags, a security system and panic alarm, perimeter/approach lights, anti-whiplash front head restraints, ignition disable, delay-off headlights, variably intermittent wipers, a rear window defroster, speed sensitive/rain sensing wipers, and a low tire pressure warning system.

Convenience features include one-touch up and down windows, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, speed control, illuminated entry, front dual-zone air conditioning, automatic temperature control, an overhead console, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with mounted cruise and audio controls, emergency communication system, remote keyless entry and a navigation system.

Hyundai Veloster is One Hot Deal This Summer

http://pictures.dealer.com/s/superiorhyundainorth/1862/0f467bfbb9e276c6da96132dc2d4efd5x.jpg

The new Veloster Re:Flex Edition just went on sale, however, it is limited to 3,000 cars. You might be able to get in on the action by ordering the vehicle through Superior Hyundai North, though many of the limited models were already pre-ordered.

How is the Veloster Re:Flex Edition Different from the Veloster?

The Re:Flex Edition features special paint, alloy wheels, LED lighting, and other small changes to an already great-looking vehicle. If you are looking for a sporty compact vehicle, this is the perfect thing - and since the number being sold is limited, you're likely to have something that is one-of-a-kind in Cincinnati.

Sportier than Sporty

While the original Veloster is very sporty and looks great, the Re:Flex Edition is even sportier. Scott Margason, the director of product planning, stated that "Compact sporty customers are often looking for limited edition models with even sportier styling." The Re:Flex Edition delivers just that, including an exclusive color that really makes the vehicle stand out.

This edition has Ice Pearl paint on the exterior, and the interior comes with the customer's choice of red or black leather seats, 18-inch wheels and LED taillights and headlights. And, there's a ton of chrome accents, including on the hood and door handles.

None Left?

If you get to Superior Hyundai North only to find there are no more Veloster Re:Flex Editions left, you can still drive away in a Veloster Turbo with R-Spec. This particular model features a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine backed by a six-speed manual transmission. This combination puts out 201 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 pound-feet of torque at 1,750 rpm. The Veloster turbo gets 24 mpg* in the city and 33 mpg* on the highway; and it runs on regular unleaded fuel.

Safety features include brake assist, ABS brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, a security system and panic alarm, several airbags and ignition disable.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North today to order the Veloster Re:Flex Edition or to test drive the 2014 Veloster Turbo with R-Spec. Ask your salesperson for a complete list of convenience, entertainment, security and safety features for both vehicles.

2015 Genesis Coupe Will Make You the Envy of the Road

Soon enough, you will be able to test drive the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe at Superior Hyundai North. Reports from Motorward speculate that Hyundai will be dropping the four-cylinder turbo engine, which leaves the V-6 engine. It will most likely be the 3.8-liter GDi engine as that is what was seen in the HND-9 Concept model. However, Hyundai could still put the 3.3-liter turbo V-6 in the 2015 Genesis coupe.

If Hyundai does use the 3.8-liter V-8 engine, the company will have to address the fuel economy, while the engine puts out 350 horsepower, it is quite thirsty. The cabin will contain only premium materials and technology; and the vehicle will have a fancy design. Motorward reports that this probably won't be an entry-level sports car, but a premium sports car.

That being the case, you can expect the Genesis coupe to have many of the same features that are standard in the Genesis sedan. Until Hyundai releases more details, we can only guess, but we are expecting to see convenience features such as distance pacing cruise control, illuminated entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power moon roof, front dual zone air conditioning with automatic climate control, an emergency communication system and a navigation system.

Additional features may also include heated seats, ventilated seats, leather shift knob and steering wheel, heated, auto-dimming door mirrors, and turn signal in the door mirrors.

Entertainment features may include a Lexicon speaker system, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.

Safety and security features may include several, as in more than the standard number of, airbags, ABS brakes, perimeter/approach lights, a panic alarm, security system, adjustable head restraints, ignition disable, lane departure, front and rear parking sensors, and a blind spot sensor.

Keep your eye on this spot or stop by Superior Hyundai North for more information on the 2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe as it becomes available.

Hyundai Named As Greenest Automaker

http://images.dealer.com/evox/stills_0640/9625/9625_st0640_089.jpg

Honda is no longer the most environmental automaker, thanks to Hyundai, the auto maker that quickly moved to downsized engines, anti-pollution technology and electric hybrid vehicle. The Union of Concerned Scientists, a nonprofit group that works on climate change and nuclear weapon control ranked several auto manufacturers' "green behavior."

As greenhouse gas limits get stricter over the years, auto manufacturers are hurrying to meet those limits. Reportedly, the average fuel efficiency for vehicles needs to be doubled by 2025. According to the group of scientists, auto manufacturers have used a few "key technologies" to reduce global warming. The group says that there are additional technologies that can be used to further decrease global warming, including some technologies already currently being used by Hyundai, including hydrogen fuel cells and turbo charged engines.

You can see much of the technology when you visit Superior Hyundai North to test drive one of the "green" vehicles that are on the lot. While all eight auto manufacturers have implemented technologies that reduce global warming emissions, Hyundai has done the most. Furthermore, 2014 is the first year since 2000 that all eight auto manufacturers have decreased global warming emissions.

The 2014 Sonata hybrid is one of the "green" vehicles available at our Cincinnati dealership. This model features a 2.4-liter gas engine and electric motors. The Sonata gets 36 mpg* in the city and 40 mpg* on the highway. The engines are backed by a Shiftronic six-speed automatic transmission. This combination makes 159 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. Total horsepower is 199 at 5,500 rpm. The Sonata's engine puts out 154 pound-feet of torque and runs on regular unleaded fuel.

Safety and security features include ABS brakes, brake assist, four-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, a security system, panic alarm, and several airbags. You can even disable the ignition.

Stop by Superior Hyundai North today to test drive of the "green" vehicle or anything else you might be interested in.
